As far as the locals way of thinking goes in some cases, would you rather have turkey finished with ticks, hoppers, and stink bugs ?, or corn.....

pretty hard to follow, I guess I wasn't aware that the wdfw had a council??
GMAC? Or does she mean the Commission? No one knows.

Sorry I'm taken, have my guy here! BUT do NOT need any dude to control me!

Soo Your all takin' TURKEY here, THIS IS NOT A JOKE, :hello:
It's a real issue in my area near south Banks Lake, (yes there IS desert Merriam's here!) like the other poster said "Shot a bird FULL of Cracked corn!"
Hmm that means they chowed tuff! Feeding the chickens and such! Like a Coyote or a Bear it the SAME THING. Cat food on the porch and such.... :bdid:
Farm scatter is different, it's on-the-ground from harvesting of a Combine...
We had a sign posted in our neighborhood saying with an RCW code "put one's Garbage cans locked up til' the day of collection". Take down bird feeders, cat, dog foods from outside...
We are unknowingly attracting, feeding the wildlife....
Look this up, do one's homework, look in your yard, acrage.... :IBCOOL:

One thing in LIFE is,,, We cannot out run time!

Do you have plants and flowers in your yard?  Take them out to because they will also feed on those.  As the saying goes you can't fix stupid.  Turkeys will habg around a food aource once they knows it there they will call in their friends.  Does WDFW care that much?  In my opinion not so much.  I get the numbers of tags every year.  Around 15K plus tags sold  At $15 plus a tag that is a decent amount of change from turkey hunting.  Did you all know that it was stated that when the agency started changing for tags that a 1/3 of that money was supposed to go back into turkey habitat.  We have been asking the last couple years where is thay money?  We haven't gotten any replies until just thia year.  Unfortunately I can't go into the particulars until it is finalized but hope that what is in the pipe will help.  As far as people feeding birds the game department picks their battles.  They feel that turkeys aren't a huge problem.

Cage trap with corn leading into it and past the triggering mechanism = turkey on the table if you really want one of those tough as shoe leather birds. IMO only thing are good for is their feathers as predator decoys

Them turkeys aren't that bad to eat.
I take the breast ,strip it out, beat the Heck out of it with a meat hammer ,till it's almost falling apart.
Then I make a almost thin gravy out of water and flour.
Then a dry mix of flour and seasoning.
The strips go into gravy mix ,then container with lid for dry mix flour, shake it like your life depends on it.
Drop those strips into hot oil in the frying pan.
So gooood!!!!.

Agreed some of the best tasting is wild turkey.  I strip them, marinate over night and make wild turkey jalepeno poppers.  All in the way you cook it like any other wild game.

I think you could make anything taste good with enough catsup. Even Mre's are palatable with tabasco.   :dunno:

I'm glad I don't live in Duvall

I didn’t realize Duvall was in unit 272.🤔
