Grant & Othello Fairs

Fair season has come to a close. What a fun time we had! Grant County went pretty well. My son got call backs in Market and Fit & Show. Daughter got a call back in FFA Fit & Show, and won 4-H Grand Champion Prospect Lamb. Daughter also won Best of show on her educational poster, and was Reserve Grand Champion in FFA Live Stock Judging. Grant County sale prices were off the charts. All exhibitors will be receiving way above average checks for their livestock projects.
Othello Fair was also very much fun. That Grand Champion Prospect lamb would not gain. Try as we might, gains were slow. Our club scale had the lamb just under the minimum. Thank goodness, it made weight on the fair scale. In an effort to not bother the lamb, my daughter did not work as much with the lamb, and it showed a little. She received two blue ribbons, but no call backs. My son, once again, received call backs in market and fit & show. He finished as Reserve Grand Champion in Intermediate 4-H Fit & Show! My son also won Grand Champion in Intermediate 4-H livestock Judging. Once again, Sale prices were above average.
This was a year of ups and downs, but a great year none the less. Kids collected a few more championship ribbons & plaques, and we are thankful for the success. Thanks to the sale buyers, and everyone else for a great year.

Soooooo awesome.
Congrats to all your kids. I'm so happy that these 4-H and FFA kids were able to get back to doing what they love to do.
Our Snohomish county fair exhibitor attendance was way down. Half of what it normally is with our rabbit kids. 2 of our rabbit kids showed hogs and they were the only ones in their age classes. There was 1 senior kid showing as well.
Our market sale prices were also insane.

Very cool! Congratulations to your kids! We made it out to the Grant County fair this year, it was great to see things back to (mostly) normal. I have lots of good memories of showing horses and pigs there, so glad the kids get to keep making their own happy memories!

How do you measure trying, you do, or you don’t.
