if you dont get a tag, can you apply for a controlled hunt, or do you have to have the tag in order to apply?, i know you have to have a license, in order to apply

Just a license.  It is just a little easier to apply with a backup OTC hunt in your pocket, vs paying them $185 for a license and only a small chance to draw a tag.

We were hoping for a DAV elk tag this year. Sold out.  But once in there I checked and there are still a crap load of "B" tags left in some good areas.  "A" tags are getting scarce.

Wow, been waiting all morning.. finally said, "it's your turn, you're being re-directed" and then kicked me off immediately and said "session timed out"... awesome. Same crap different year I guess

Did that for me too, you just need to log back in and your in.

yep just re-enter log in info and it dumps you right in. Did that to me and my daughter both.

I got my elk zone.  90 some tags left and my buddies have 5k people to go.

Then it went blank. I'm now in the 25000

Wanted Salmon B but they were out - walked away with an Elk City B tag and a GMU 1 deer tag.  Not bad for being #14000 or whatever.  Good luck all!
