Recurve arrow rest
« on: December 02, 2021, 08:32:18 AM »
I just bought a new recurve and will be setting it up soon. I am curious what arrow rest you all would recommend. I have used the plastic adhesive ones in the past but have had issues with them and wondering if there are better options.

Depending on bow.
Sometimes shooting off the shelf is a better option.

Bow I'm shooting now has one of these feather rests. (picture is not my bow) I like it and would consider trying it out on other bows.

My other bow had one of those plastic things. I took that off eventually and started shooting off the shelf and found i liked that better for that  bow

Thanks for the responses. I think I am going to try and shoot off the shelf with some velcro and see how that performs. That Turkey feather one looks pretty cool.

Velcro works really well. I use it on several recurves and longbows.

My recurve sports a piece of hide from a mule deer. I saved a square that had the hair changing directions. Plenty stiff, and when set correctly, those hairs will lay away from me. Cheap, kinda primitive, and have enough to outlast me or the bow.

Leather works best in my opinion.  Elk hide is excellent. Find someone to give you a chunk
