I grew up near there. I remember over the years there were a couple of wolves found that were shot by unknown people. Now I think everyone is paying too much attention for that to happen. I was not really surprised the state voted to reintroduce wolves but I am disappointed. Such amazing elk herds that will be cut in half, best case scenario.
If a man does his best, what else is there?

Who gives these people to right to reintroduce these predators back into the system with out and public reactions.

They should be dealt with very seriously.

These animals specifically migrated in from the reintroduced populations. The pending colorado "reintroduction" was on the state ballot. It's rather amusing that the votes that made it pass came from east of the continental divide while the reintroduction will be conducted west of it.

Funny thing, wolves are not a migration animal. They do disperse, they eat their way out. Talking to the guys from WY, Montana back in the day, they said they could watch wolves expand by watching the game herds plummet. Fitkin might have been the first to claim that wolves migrate. Anyone ever heard of the great wolf migration until the illegal wolf introduction?

Disperse is correct and it may be 500 miles taking every inch of the way

Okay my fault for using the wrong term, they dispersed from Wyoming instead of migrating. A previous pack did similar in the north west of the state but ended up getting gunned down entirely when they were back on the other side of the border at some point. Due to the location of this new pack its unlikely that'll occur as they are being closely monitored by the state on a daily basis.

Closely monitoring a wolf, not collared, is like keeping track of your 18 year old as a freshman at university.  Good luck with that

I'm sure it is in most places. Different story where those ones took up residence

Little strange how wolves always seem to migrate into cattle country, and the only time wolves eventually get confirmed.

I always appreciate the 70 years number, the fake environmentalists and corrupt state game agencies came up with the seventy year mark how?

They did finally switched over to disperse after it was pointed out that wolves don't migrate. Not referring that you are a fake environmentalist Haus, just pointing out some similarities that have followed the wolves since they were illegally introduced.

Colorado is going to go fast, like other states the USFWS will dump wolves at a high rate of speed.

Well you can complain they were illegally introduced all you want, bottom line is they're here now and the fleecing of federal funds for the introduction occurred almost 3 decades ago. The dispersion into colorado was inevitable. I'm not sure why you think the USFWS is going to dump wolves there, Colorado had a state ballot measure pass through vote to bring wolves in, which CPW will be conducting. The fact that it's going to occur even though wolves are already in the state is bs, but the voters voted and now it's inevitable unless the counties impacted by the ballot measure fight back, which it looks like that is going to be the case so hopefully they gain legal traction in stopping it.

Stopping it? You are dreaming.
Like WA that wasn't the first wolf killed livestock in 70 years etc..

You can and probably do believe that the wolves in Colorado came there on their own, but folks who live there know a bit more than you do about how wolves got into their livestock.

Carry on...
