WDFW eastern region digital open house
« on: December 12, 2021, 05:54:03 PM »

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Director Kelly Susewind will host a series of digital open houses this fall to span topics of interest across Washington. Susewind and the region’s leadership staff, including Regional Director Steve Pozzanghera, will provide updates on timely and local topics, and invite the public to ask questions.

“If you’ve ever wondered “why”, this is a chance to learn more,” said Susewind. “I enjoy the chance to connect with residents about the topic that matter to them.”

The Thursday, Dec. 16 digital open house will focus on Eastern Washington –  Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, Lincoln, Spokane, Whitman, Walla Walla, Columbia, Garfield, and Asotin counties.

Susewind and regional directors previously held a series of in-person and digital open houses for residents across the state over the last three years.

The virtual format offers convenience and supports public safety,” said Susewind. “Though people have become much more accustomed to this technology over the past 18 months, we’re also craving a return in-person options for face-to-face interactions, hopefully next year.”

The webinar can be viewed via Zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88944712859

Leave your questions for the presenters in the comments below! We'll answer them live during the event as time allows.

Would or does this have any impact on the new grouse dates ?   I'm going to try and keep up on this.

This seems to just be an opportunity for general questions and answers with WDFW.

I may have a few questions
Do you submit them now or when the meeting starts.

It looks like it’s a Facebook event so you’d have to be on Facebook. You put your questions in the comments section within that event. They say they’ll answer the questions that are posted there.

The whole attempt is a joke. Back when they used to have "roundtable" meetings with the public, they weren't even able to come up with answers to legitimate questions asked by the public. Nothing more than a mere cop out to fill their public involvement agenda. :twocents:

I've attended a few virtual ones and they have answered my questions. Its usually the Director of WDFW, and the regional staff. So if you have specific questions to something in the region its a good way to get it answered rather than sending an email that may never generate a response.

In the light of recent developments regarding WDFW and the Commission, any opportunity for information, participation, or input can not be ignored. While they may not always seem to be listening or responsive, we see what we get when we allow the discussion to be dominated by other interests.
