Bought New Binos today
« on: May 05, 2009, 05:20:42 PM »
Well, I finally broke down and bought a new pair of Binos today.  I really wanted lighter pair of binos to use for coyote hunting and archery hunting.  I was torn between the Swarovski EL 10x42 and the Leica Geovid 10x42.....Optically, when side by side, the EL's were head and shoulders above the Geovids.  So, I picked up the Swarovski EL's.  Now I just need to figure out how to explain to my wife why I needed to buy a third set of Swaro's :chuckle: :chuckle: Can't wait to try these babies out - they are so light.

Swaros are awsome and anyone looking for a good deal on some SLC's Puyallup Joes has them for 40% off saw one pair left for $950. Wish I had the cash for a second pair.
Shut up and Hunt!

That is why we should never talk prices!!!!   :chuckle:  So, I told my wife, those other ones aren't really binoculars....these are REAL binoculars - she didn't ask about price and seemed satisfied.    :IBCOOL:  Even if she was pissed, she would get over it eventually and I will still have my new binos - definitely worth it!  Besides, the couch is right in front of the 50" plasma, my favorite place to be anyways!

You just can't go wrong with Swarovski, they are simply the best. They are real proud of anything with thier logo on it though.

Funny story. While moose hunting last year M-Ray and I came up the road to a guy glassing a heavily wooded draw right before dark. We stopped and got out to talk, he had seen a bear but had lost it in the dark shadows. He was using some cheap binos, brand withheld as to not offend ;), and was pissed he had missed his opportunity. I grabbed my EL's and found it right away. I said "he's right there" and pointed to it as I handed the EL's to him. He put them up, spotted the bear right away and said "WOW". He took them down and just gave M-Ray a amazed look as he went for his gun. :chuckle:

I agree.  I have a "little" brand loyalty.   ;)
