Wow! Very nice. I love the dark antlers those NE bucks tend to get.

Nice buck.  I see a big variation of antler configuration in NE.  That's what I like about WT, each is unique.   
Economy failure = Too many people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like.

Very correct, huge difference in whitetail traits.  You really never know what you might see. Back in the day before trailcameras I bet there were bucks never seen

That looks great but I’d have a hard time not doing a shoulder mount on that stud

I never aged it but I know the teeth weren’t flat. It hadn’t started to regress.

I think the color gives away where it was probably shot.

I have a shed of similar color and my guess is that deer spent some of his time in a burn not necessarily a recent burn but none the less.  And as far as giving away where he was probably shot, heck I can go any direction and in between and wind up in a burn now days.

You’re probably right with all the recent fires. I was thinking of one fairly big one in particular in the NE corner from recent years.

Not recolored. It probably was pushed into the area from a burn.
