2021 Arizona Bull
« on: December 20, 2021, 07:47:39 AM »
Dan Agnew harvested this giant after 19 days of hunting in Arizona this year. The 9x9 non-typical officially scores 428 1/8 gross and 422 3/8 net.

Congrats Dan!

Saw this earlier when he shot it.  Nice bull for sure.  I remeber my buddy mentioning he had $8k plus gun setup.  $50K plus hunt and was wearing the Wal Mart camo  :chuckle:  See you don't need the expensive camo to kill big bulls.
Cut em!

I'm sure Mr. Dan can afford to buy a cape  :chuckle:

True. I am just one to not buy something that you already had available. What it would be like to have the money to just buy something because you can.

It is a nice bull regardless. And even though the amount of money some of these type of tags go for is crazy at least it goes (usually) to conservation of the animals.

I'm not to sure why I would congratulate Dan.  Congratulations should go to the multi-maned crew that found, followed, and got Dan onto the animal.  I'm sure (like in the past), that Dan just showed up (flew in) and handed them a butt-load of cash, pointed his gun at the bull, pulled the trigger, posed for internet pictures, gave them the address where to ship the antlers, and got on his plain and flew away.   :dunno:

What a masher! Dan's the greatest hunter of our time! If every hunter cared as much as Dan did about just enjoying the hunt and being with friends the world would be a better place. Great job on all the hard work Dan! Pfft!

I for one think it's cool that someone into elk hunting, achieving financial success, and with the time to get after it, is hunting and killing big elk. Good for him, even if he was guided in, congrats! Hope it's me one day.

I was just poking fun about it. If I had the money he has to spend on hunts I would do the same thing. He clearly has a love for hunting and just like anything else, animal wise, on this site, people post for the attention. What other reason could their be? The money he donated in whatever form, be it raffles or governor tags is clearly benefiting wildlife far greater than you or I just buying a license and tag. I was talking about the jealousy thing. That's what it is when anyone trashes this sort of thing. It's jealousy.

The man can afford his hunting passion. He kills some amazing bulls!
Think of how many guides and outfitters he keeps employed each year.
I am curious how many hunts he goes on each year?

Anyway congratulations on another amazing bull!

You obviously know nothing about how they hunt elk on the san carlos…. Sure it costs a bunch of money but theres no crew just Dan and Homer who he has hunted elk with for over 20 years there... I just hope he still has that same proud, accomplishment feeling you had when you killed your first bull or branch antlered buck.  If I had his money I'd hunt in the best areas too, maybe he takes younger hunters and helps them??  I know I would, the older I get the more I like to see new hunters be successful than myself.  Most of us know nothing about this hunter, I'll trust what NWhunter says, he's in the know.  Great bull. (yes, I'm jealous too)

Nice Bull! Everyone make sure to make a smart A$$ comment, bash the hunter, then move along to the bear petition page and complain about how we all need to stick together so we don't lose more opportunity.

Great contribution to this thread. I mean that with all the sarcasm.

Another great bull for him . Dude has probably done more for conservation in one year then all the haters in this thread have combined .

A great bull !

just not into, much less interest in hunts that are Pay2Play, guided and/or private land hunts...including tribal reservation hunts.
Hunts $$$ like this only encourage the trend for less public land DIY hunts which result in reduced non-resident tags and opportunity for all public land hunters.

My fave AZ elk unit 10 has a large Big Bo ranch that might go strictly private, guided hunts for 2022.
Ranch is now owned by Navajo tribe.
Once was free to access with sign in, last few years was Pay access permit and now just have to wait and see.

:dunno:
To correct the story, It should read (He flew off in his jet) He fly's in and out of our local airport. I use to work for him.
