Possible single digit temps and deer
« on: December 23, 2021, 09:57:48 AM »
I’ve got the week off coming up and still trying to punch my archery tag.

I’m going out either way, can’t kill one from the couch. But that being said, I would think after the first day the deer are going to have to get up and feed hard to keep up with the temp swing. What’s ya’lls opinion?

Going to set up on the edge of a known field deer frequent in the morning and try to make a move from there

Also if you can get into a spot that allows you to look over slopes or spots that allow the sun to hit, they can be found bedded to take advantage of the warmth it provides.

Yep, frigid temps=concentrate on southwest slopes.

Possible single digits? How about negative digits? Tues was -8

It’s pretty rare we get through an east side late archery season without this kind of weather…this weather is usually what I capitalize on. It was just a week late for us this year.

I was coyote hunting this morning in the timber and I bumped into several blacktails on a mountain saddle. They were moving as late as 10:30 am.
