Link works for me.

Kind of crazy that the gov't issued a kill permit but wouldn't let them shoot either of the breeding pair.
How is that supposed to work?

More than a few years ago, our then Sheriff Gary Edwards issued a statement saying "Any deputies seeing a cougar within a developed area are allowed to shoot it when it's safe to do so". 

The WDFW went NUTS and said he lacked the legal authority to make any changes to game laws and demanded a retraction.  Gary just said "My business is people's safety, not cats. The order stands."

I always liked Gary!
