Stolen Waterfowl Game Bags, Gear & Waders - Skagit County
« on: December 27, 2021, 05:44:53 PM »
Went hunting with my sons in a 15 shell area.  We made the mistake of placing 15 shells in each of our pockets and walking in.  We left all our hunting bags, waders and other items in my truck covered up.  We came back and the window was smashed out and we were cleaned out.  Lost 3 Divebomb bags, all our chokes, headlights, case & a half of ammo, our Sitka gloves and gear.  Sitka waders and lots of other miscelaneous waterfowl gear along my binoculars.  What's the process of placing a claim for all the stolen gear?  I am trying to find receipts or ones I have, but those seem to be far and few between.

Check with homeowners insurance for filing claim. As mentioned, deductible may be more than lost items.

My truck was stolen by a tweeker many years ago when tweakers were a new thing. Make a list of every item lost and a replacement price. Call your agent with that homework done. This is when you find out if your insurance company is worth all the money you have been paying them. Sorry this happened to you. Good luck

Crock of crap! I hope you can locate the gear on FB, Offer up or CL and get these people prosecuted

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear about this. I just lost a nice bag of Avian-X deeks to thieves in Skagit a couple weeks ago.

Took from my boat, so no vehicle damage. Might have happened at headquarters boat launch, but more likely once I was parked on my private property.

Would love to get my hands on the figgin scumbags

Unfortunate that the police anymore just take a report.  At least if they arrest someone with it, I may get a call.  The fun will start with the insurance company now.  Paid insurance for over 30 years and never had a break in, but I am sure I am about to be hosed again.  The window goes on my car insurance, $100 deductable.  Loss property goes on my home owners, $1,000 deductable.  They set it up, so they can double ding you and raise rates on both for any claims, I am sure.   :bash: :bash:  If someone catches a thief that is breaking into your rig, is it okay to rob them back?  Asking for a friend.

Sorry you got ripped off!
I hate thieves with a passion. I wish there could be a theft deterrent team, who setup and catch these scumbags, then impress on them through immense pain, that stealing others property is not cost effective.

Certainly a sh***y deal! I've learned the hard way that you just can't leave anything out where these dirt bags can get at it. I leave nothing in my truck when I'm out hunting, and nothing outside on my personal property.  Heck, someone stole a Santa Claus figure off my front lawn last year. Seems they just steal stuff because they can.  Best of luck on recovery or, hopefully, some relief from your insurance co..

Man it just sucks pond water thru a star. Happened to me for the first time November this year a few miles from my house at a WEYCO permit walk in road. The di#% less POS,s smashed the drivers side rear window in my truck and pry barred my tonneau cover. I honestly thank God that I didn’t catch them with a rifle in my hand. In the future, when I hunt the WEYCO permit walk in area, my wife has to drop me off and pick me up when I’m done hunting.  Almost time to fly this state and head back to where I came from.

Sad the police can't do much anymore. Remember when we were talking that crime is only going to get worse? Here we are. Very upsetting. There have been a few guys on here getting cleaned out this fall. So sad.

That sucks! Our duck shack was just broken into out on the Skagit Flats by Conway. Stole our Honda generator and tons of cases of shells and a bunch of other stuff. Might be the same A-hole.

Damn, sorry to hear that Tony. I'll keep my eyes open for that stuff popping up for sale in our area. Insurance is a crock too, pay into it for years and never get any benefit in the instance you need to file a claim...
