What site were you at? Remember when talking with insurance company they will depreciate your loss so make sure to tell them if your gear was new or fairly new.

Unfortunately the way insurance is set up it’s not cost wise to file claims on small stuff, it just raises it and over time your still paying for what you lost thru higher rates.

We had a neutral power line power surge a couple years ago lost quite few electrical appliances, so did many others near us, PSE isn’t responsible the way laws are written in their favor.🤬

We just replaced everything out of pocket.

Late bow season I didn’t hunt an area I know holds deer due to tweakers possible stealing/breaking into my truck, a deer just ain’t worth it to me.

Sorry for your loss.

That sucks! Our duck shack was just broken into out on the Skagit Flats by Conway. Stole our Honda generator and tons of cases of shells and a bunch of other stuff. Might be the same A-hole.
You waterfowlers need to set up cams, or a decoy vehicle.😉

That said, total it up, its incredible how fast things can add up. I had a hunting pack a few miscellaneous items taken in the same manner a few years ago and ended up with over double my deductible in costs. My policy included replacement costs as well.

Buddy had his boat robbed and lost several tackle boxes, incredible how much money is in a little box...

Also interested in hearing a location if you don't mind sharing. Good to know what areas the thieves are working.

HerdBull, when was that? This year?

Man these people piss me off. The game department will put out decoys to try to catch poachers. Why the heck doesn’t the sheriffs department put a truck out with some hunting gear in it and sit on it just like they do the decoys? With how much this is happening it seems like you would have just as much or more success than they do when using this tactic to catch poachers. Better if they did it before honest Hunters start doing it and go to jail when they shoot some POS stealing their crap

I not sure what can  be done  legally to beat this,  when  my downriggers were  stolen off  my boat,  my neighbor found  them  on offerup,  Marysville  pd would not  even  go  talk to the person  who  had them, said the  distinguishing  characteristics of  them was not enough,  they wanted  the  serial  numbers  before they would  even  help.
I was  going to go  buy them  back  and  then  see  what I  could  do, I  should  have  done  that.
I think if you find  your stuff online,  I would  go  look at it,  with a  friend  and money,  take  it  from there.

It is  total  bs.

Thanks for the heads up. I shared with a couple buddies who have similar shacks.

Talked to the insurance adjuster today.  Anything over $1k value you have to provide receipts, proof of purchase, owners manuals or pictures of you with it or you won't be getting anthing for it.  They also want dates you purchased items.  I am sure they will try to depreciate it, so you won't get replacement cost.  You get the wear and tear price.  Not sure who the real criminals are, the tweekers or insurance companies.  Going through the shake down procedure currently.

Thieves. Nothing worse for a sporting sort that follows rules and gets burned by thieves. Every time I read this I think…maybe I just cuddle into the back of my rig and wait.

The other problem is whatever they pay you they will get back with increased premiums in short order and you will also have a claim on your insurance file so you can't jump to another company.  It's getting to the point that insurance is pretty much only actually insuring against catastrophic loss.  Everything else is simply an installment payment scheme.

Sorry to hear that, I've been getting pretty lazy storing stuff in the back seat of my truck and leaving stuff I don't need in the bed.  Sounds like I should rethink that.

You don’t see many used dive bomb silhouette dekes for sale this time of year. What dekes were they (species), and what size and camo pattern were the waders? I watch the used gear pages closely and can keep an eye out.

The police ‘probably’ have a pretty good idea who it was. The problem is how tied their hands are, and the ‘catch and release’ pattern the court systems have now.
As was stated, without serial numbers, pics with details, there IS no ‘proof’ that you owned the item. It sucks.
We got back ‘some’ of the items that were stolen from us in late Nov, and that was only because of a Cop that worked hard to find them.
Now our ‘older’ Travel Trailer sports a bolted on hasp with a lock on the front door. If another person wants in they may break a window. That would suck as well.
Cuterebra are NOT cute!

All this has me wondering if there is better security for your rig out there?
If your window gets broke does your car alarm go off?

Often thought about putting a separate alarm in my rig to cover the bed and inside. Something that blairs real loud.
