If you want company let me know.  I have private walk-in access (~75 yard walk to the water) on the West shore, south end.  Most folks seem to fish on the North end but that could be due to access via the boat launch.

To anyone close.. I’d lie, and claim professional ice fisherman just to fish with rob and hear his hunting stories, FYI.... couple beers... trophy room tour.. just saying..

Ha!  No commitment to telling true stories though...

Been here since November and I am itching to do something other than unpack boxes or hang shelves for the wife!

Was driving past Banks in the dark on my way to curlew on Saturday and it got me thinking about crappie. Anyone tried around steamboat for crappie through the ice? Is the ice even fish able right now? Contemplating a run up there Friday morning to check it out.

That would be awesome!!  I have a couple of ice fishing rods you can use.  My wife and I are doing a ice fishing tournament on Saturday, depending on the weather might go Sunday or the following weekend for sure.

Took the wife on her very first ice fishing trip.  We drove 2 hours down to Elk Creek Res, near Elk River, Idaho.  Ice was probably 16 inches thick.  Had a blast.  The Elk River Lodge had a fun tournament, 199 people entered.  Top prize was $1,000.  We ended up catching 9 trout, 5 rainbows and 4 Brook trout.  Wife caught 5 and I caught 4.  We won a couple of raffle prizes.  Weather was really nice, no wind and about 38 degrees.
