North Slope UT Mule Deer
« on: December 31, 2021, 10:16:28 AM »
Anyone have experience with this unit for modern? My brother, his three sons, his best friend and I are putting in for tags to hunt this unit next year. One of the boys is familiar with a small part of the unit. Any direction or tips? This will be the first time I've hunted with any of the boys and in over 40 years with my big brother.

Nephew has hunted it for the last 4-5 years with muzzy. He's done well. Big area, with some rough stuff. Quite weather dependent for the rifle hunt, deer spend most of the good weather in the Uinta
wilderness.(only mtn range in the U.S that runs east-west)Used to spend a lot of time hiking into the various lakes in the area fishing when I was young, but hunted mostly the south slopes.  Not a lot of tips I can give you, but expect to see a lot of ORV's running around. Nephew says they drive him crazy when he hunts it, if you take one you have to get a special permit to drive it in Utah and they do enforce it diligently
