What are my chances??
« on: May 06, 2009, 10:15:23 AM »
So wife has from the 22nd thru the 25th of May off. We are thinking about going back over to the Colville area to do some late season turkey hunting. I have never hunted that late in the season, was just wanting to know what our chances are?

I want her to get a bird this year as she will be deployed again next year and will not be able to hunt.

So it is either Turkey hunting or Musky fishing.

Thanks for any input...

I'd say your chances are pretty good.  I drilled my bird on the second to last day of the season last year.  They were still gobbling up a storm.

a lot of the hens will be bred by that time, so toms will be getting desperate and can be really stupid.

i agree good odds.

last year was my first attempt at turkey hunting. I didn't even start till about the second week of May. My calling then was more successful than it has been so far this season. Take it for what it's worth.     -Nathan

Yelp it will be fun, one of the last of the hunts with my wife until Spring of 2011 and we are taking our ten month old baby girl with us for the first time. So hopefully some good pics and videos. And if I an just get her to stop laughing when I use my shcok gobbler or the peacock call

They are going better than they have all season.
