Oh yes Bone. I know a few of the areas over by me that used to get patrolled all winter by guys have actually gotten better. At least when I'm in those areas I don't see as many random rigs creeping along the feeding areas. I think new fences by the road and new homes being put up in some of the areas have kept people away too. I feel like if your out doing it and someone reports you they should do the same thing as poaching. Take whatever gear you have and impound your vehicle. Make you pay for being a *censored*.

I know you are being funny, but Sadly  a lot of jerks do it on purpose, for that exact reason.

I see it all time :(   if your not the person that is out looking for them early, someone else will be :chuckle:

I do not think it is too bad on the wet side with Blacktail Deer, they do not seem to get so spooked if you are in the woods this time of year. They just trot a little ways away & are almost immediatly hidden in the dense, dark west side forest.

No the stress comes from the nutrient shortage and ice and snow and the cold temps. I wouldn't think the Westside blacktails have any loss of forage during the regular winters and temps are usually pretty tolerable.

With the amount of snow yet on the ground here in the Methow (thigh deep in majority of places) kinda early to be out and yes still tough on the deer getting around without being pushed unnecessarily.

Knee deep to a tall Indian at my place in the Methow

Don’t discourage anyone for going out and looking for sheds, snow on the ground or not. No body is pursuing deer right now. You bump the deer maybe 50 yards or so and they settle down. Remember the go outside and play stickers? love seeing folks getting sheds and getting fired up about this stuff. God created these critters, just like the birds...they do not sow or reap or store away in barns yet our father feeds them.
