Man what a freak! Is that winter grounds or does that buck live in the area year round? I’d definitely be hanging cams all over there! Sweet find man!

We were in there tonight looking for the other side for a few hours and I actually think we saw him. Looked up and about 200 yds up the ridge there was a GIANT of a WT standing in an opening watching us. My wife is new to whitetail being from AK and she thought it was a cow elk.

Steep and deep today. We put the miles on in Hells Canyon with the dogs.

Do it right the first time,

Nice find.  Some of the bigger elk have dropped around my place.  Still have two two point and two five point elk packing.  It is weird how some drop early and others hold on.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Have you found any big ones on your place yet? I can imagine you have some good bulls there!!

Rainier10 you reminded me of a time I was watching the elk around a friend's place waiting for them to drop so I could go find some sheds. We kept seeing all the smaller bulls running around with antlers still into April and then one day the big wrecking crew of old boys showed up and they all had velvet antlers out to the second brow tines already! They were WAY ahead of the younger bulls. It was really odd.

Not a shed, but my daughter found a pig head on some public land while we were scouting for turkey. No luck on any actual sheds yet  :dunno:

Nothing but I haven’t been looking yet. I have heard rumors of trespassers find some good ones. Frustrating.
