It just "might" be possible to change a new CCW regulation for bowhunters, muzzleloaders so it complies with state statute. The Seattle Gun Rights Examiner talks about how, and looks back over a history of game management that has trimmed some 170,000 hunters from Washington's ranks since 1981.

If that doesn't work, try this

Nice article Dave, thanks for keeping this alive and for informing folks!  I am one of those that has declared last year my final year to hunt in WA.  I am only hunting in Idaho this year.

I'm with machias on that..I cant do it yet but Idaho will be next.it just seems this state goes out of its way to discourage any hunting, fishing, prospecting, trapping or business to succeed here.this is a beautiful state being run into the ground by mismanagement in every aspect.its a plain shame.. :(

:twocents: :twocents:  Make that a nickels worth of opinion.  The reason we are losing hunters so fast and so consistently is not the hunting regs (which I'll agree with everyone are silly) it's because even though our numbers keep declining they keep cramming us into fewer and fewer GMUs.  I hear this lame @$$ excuse from hunters all the time, We're the smallest state with the most people.  What do you guys think overcrowding and pressure would be like if the opened up the fricken state and allowed us all to find our own elbow room.  Make me 10 times happier.  I'd much rather chase a few elk with no hunters then a bunch of elk with a bunch of hunters!

Well, you're correct and I call "B.S." on anyone making that "kinder, gentler" remark about how we are the smallest state with the most people.
In Ohio, a state smaller than us with as many people, hunters kill something like 100,000 deer in a week every fall, and they don't have anywhere near the public land we have here.
We have been fed that "bigger population/smaller state" baloney for a generation.

I plan to come back to this subject again. You guys can help me show reader interest in the subject by picking up the links to the story (not the story, itself!) and forwarding those links to all of your fishing and huunting pals so they can click on the links and read away.

It is important to rack up lots of clicks on the links.

Yes very good read....I remember argueing with the commission in the early 80's because we had an enforcement division hell bent on limiting hunters to prevent laws from being broken.....sounds like that mentality is at work again.....ugggg
