I’ve had one for about 3 years now. I really like it, admittedly I haven’t shot a lot of .45 acp out of it(2 boxes of white box Winchester when I first bought it) but I’ve never had it fail to go “bang” with anything. I mostly shoot .44 mag level loads out of it loaded with h110.
When I first bought it, it would really lead the barrel with cast loads . I slugged the cylinder and found that all the chambers were really undersized,(like .449 or so iirc). I sent the cylinder out to a guy that runs a cylinder honing operation and had them all sized to .453, which fixed my leading and accuracy problems. Cost was around $60. From my reading this is pretty common on all of Ruger’s .45 colt revolvers.
The laser etched grips are classy looking, but I found it much more enjoyable to shoot with a hogue monogrip. That’s about the only aftermarket option since not many redhawks are built with a round butt frame.
