My take on this 10 year plan is that the WDFW is acquiescing to those who think public lands should be enjoyed similarly to the national park system. Lots of signs... defined trails and roads... Look, but don't touch mentality. Basically sterilize the entire experience. The wildlife areas should not be treated like state parks or national parks. Could you imagine having to do an online reservation to camp at a designated parking lot to go duck or deer hunting? (not specifically in the plan, but the WDFW is hoping to mirror these other agencies who have implemented reservation systems) If you have ever used a wildlife area, you need to provide input to this plan. Be smart, be professional, and let the department know what you are thinking. Lots of people are lining up to severely limit what can be done on our WDFW managed lands.
