"anyone tell me what the big deal with the accutrigger is?"

8 ounces of pull and you can carry it in the field.  Almost like a double safety to keep it from going bang.

Here is a drawing of the front pillar. For the rear just cut it off .375 under the .675 radius. use a forstner bit to drill. And epoxy them in. The front pillar replaces the little plastic bushing. a .500 forstner bit bores the hole completely thru. The pillar is slathered with epoxy and pushed in and centered by installing the screw tightly.

OHHHHHHHHHHH...... thats cool!...i think im comfertable with 3 +/- lbs for now...ive been living with stock pull untill recently so going from 8 plus lbs to 3ish....is A-OK in my book....

Well thought ide post some pictures as to how far ive gotten with my Factory 110 stock....All ive done so far is a little cutting, some rasping, and alot of sanding.....

Im gonna continue a little more Rasping and sanding here and there, Float the barrel, and then when its ready for paint im gonna make an adjustable cheek plate for it. I will end up cutting about 3 inches of the cheek rest off and ill replace it with a fancy dark wood and polish it....and then paint the stock black and rubberize the hand held areas....

It will have the functionality of a high end stock with a fraction of the cost.....and it will look awesome...!

but like i said....ive just begun.......looks good on a bi-pod and feels alot better in my hands.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK GUYS!

did you take a bunch of wood out from above the pistol grip?

what caliber is this rifle?

Yup cut about half to 3/4 of an inch into the bottom and almost 2 inches off the top side......gave it a more solid pistol style grip...

hoping the finished product will look something like this...but mine will have a sig elite look. Black and dark wood.
The stock will remain all black and then the adjustable check rest i am going to carve and polish out from a piece of fancy wood.

Ill have to make sure that the barrel lug is nice and bedded. Maybe reinforce it with fiberglass but either way i dont think i cut enough to hurt the woods strength. it is pretty hard wood.

Its a stock off a Savage 110, its barreled in 300WM.

I have been learning alot about these savage rifles and they are so easy to work on....a little bit of patience and mechanic ability and you can just about alter anything.

EITHER WAY YOU WILL HAVE TO SEE HOW IT TURNS OUT WHEN ITS FINISHED....HAVNT GOTTEN MUCH FURTHER. STILL WAITING ON NEXT DECISION. BUT PICTURES TO FOLLOW.

Looks like it's getting a little thin in the grip there... don't know that I'd want to remove any more wood... especially a .300 Winny that's going to get packed/hunted.

Yah hunting/bench gun............probably not much packing, but it needs to be sturdy as a pack gun.

I thought about it being weak also.....hope this stock will take alot more force than a Win mag.....Thats what i have been waiting on....

Planning on reinforcing the front end of the forend with an aluminum rod epoxied down the length of the rifle. keep the wood from warping in extreme weather conditions and touching the barrel....and maybe look into reinforcing the handle area also......Maybe with a rod, maybe wrap the handle with fiberglass down to the rest of the stock. Maybe just the handle area....still thinking.....

Any ideas of how to make it stronger?

Yep... here you go: http://www.bellandcarlson.com/duramaxx.html for only $109 it's a good solid stock. Buddy of mine had one on a HB Savage in .270WSM and it was a sweet set-up.

Also... a rod epoxied in the end will only stiffen it up a bit... not keep the whole thing from warping. I went away from the "A" (vertical pistol grip) style stock on my long range gun... it's tough to shoot well from all the different positions you're faced with in the field. I know you see them on a lot of tactical style guns... and some dedicated LR guns... but to me the original Sendero stock is still the best of the bunch when it comes to shootability.

HUH! THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION....

And I havent ever seen that stock.....that looks good man....!

Yah I may do that when im all said and done...Ill keep it like this for the 300WM. and then when I decide to change barrels(way-way-way down the road) Ill get that stock......looks good though....I like it. THANKS  Not to expensive either and Bell and Carlson is good stuff.

I also still want to mod this stock though...It has been alot of fun and ide be proud of it, if it comes out like I want it to. Maybe Ill do a little bit less now and not get so complicated......

THANKS AGAIN GUYS FOR LOOKING OUT!

THATS WHAT I CALL A SOLID.

this is what I did to my hunt buds 110. The pillar install. Notice the barrel and action get raised up .02" for a full free floated barrel. The rear pillar is just glued into the stock ahead of the rear screw.

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me to.
