I don't understand what you are getting at? Worth our money? Even though I complain, it is still relatively cheap to hunt in WA.

I hunt more out of state than in state.  I own some property in Missouri where I can shoot a buck and 3 does for less than $200.  I hunt there every year with my dad.  I frequent flyer my airfare so it's a cheap hunt.  I hunt Montana when I draw for deer.  Pretty much a gauranteed hunt for a nice buck and a doe or 2.  I like hunting WA, but the hunting is not close to other states in quality/quantity.

I hunt Washington only but I may move over to Idaho soon.  I do buy my non-resident season fishing licenses for Idaho and Montana every year.

I live in idaho and see no reason to pay out of state to hunt washington in a few years i may have to start puttin in for the OILs in washington just because i would hate to see my points go to waste other than that just idaho for me

I have always just hunted WA (I did hunt OR once back in 1990 I guess), but this year I put in for Deer and Antelope in MT and Elk in NM.  I put in for a couple of hunts with a buddy of mine from ID a few years back, but didn't get drawn and missed out on the over the counter tags (waited too long).  Put in for antelope in MT a few years ago, didn't get drawn there either...
...but I did get drawn for Deer A this year...

I hunt in Washington only for now.  Mainly due to costs.  That said, I am a blacktail nut.  I love getting in the brush and finding those bad boys.  I still want that big Rosie, but would like to hunt Montana or Colorado for Muleys and Rocky Mtn. Elk.

Whitetails are alright, but do not make me slobber all over myself as they do other guys.  Maybe due to the fact that most people think that there is no other deer than a whitetail.

The only out of state that I hunt is HI when I go visit the folks. Other than that it's hunting in whatever state I'm stationed in.

well if you get drawn for special hunts or if you cant get off from work then you hunt in wa if not its always better somewhere else.

I mentioned this in a fishing thread several weeks ago. With the prices going up here for license etc., lack of public lands, etc. I am considering only bird hunting in Montana and maybe going to the UP (Yooper Land) to white tail deer hunt. I've got friends in both states and both states like hunters.

I am basically a broke hunting addict. I will hunt everywhere I can, whenever I can afford it. Even though there are some things to complain about in this state, it still has a lot more to offer than most states. I thank god for having lived my life here rather than in some of the other states I have visited.

I tried applying in the state of confusion, but the non-resident prices were ridiculously high and they don't give out any bonus points.  Not only that, I can't understand any of their regulations.

I dont understand our G.D. most of the time, but Wa. has a lot to offer.  If you put in the time you can find trophys of any species.  I also hunt out of state and the country.  Although out of state hunts can be better hunts I have to say again we are lucky where we are.  We have so many different animals to chase as well as different types of terrain to chase them in.  What if every year you could only hunt whitetails?  How fun would that be?

I agree 100% with BC Chaser. This state has a lot to offer. A friend asked me today if fishing season was open yet. Fishing is open year round here. Just don't be so dang picky about what you want to fish for. Same goes for hunting. There are always predators and varmints. I have yet to go out deer hunting in this state and not see a deer so it confuses me when folks say the population is down. Elk I have yet to figure out but that is what makes it fun for me. Haven't even seen one the last three seasons but I know they are out there because I see them during the off season. I hunt WA and if it works out to head to da UP for deer I'll jump at the chance.

I think the common gripe about this state is that it doesn't stack up to Wyoming montana colorado Idaho etc. This state has the potential to be a mecca to out of state hunters, like the other states mentioned. Haven't you ever heard of a local from an other state (while hunting in thiers) complain about all the imports? I have! The more this state screws up the seasons and the way the run things just makes more opportunites for those who think outside the box. I've ben hunting out of state and each has thier own charm. In this state you wanna kill something it's gona be in somebody's back yard. You gota use a bow to get permission, but it's still wacking and stacking' :twocents:em

     WDFW will never have us as sportsman as their main concern. All they care about is the $'s, as long as they keep flowing in, they'll keep making the same rediculous decisions they've been making. Case in point is the mechanical decoy debate of a few years ago. I voiced my opinion along with probably every other waterfowler out there, and when I got my thankyou for participating card from WDFW, they let me know that even though public opinion ran 95% pro decoys, they were going to make them illegal. How's that for logic? One gal put it perfectly when she stated at the town hall meeting I attended, who cares if we limit in 5 minutes or 5 hours, as long as we obey the limits? They plain and simple don't give a damn. They know we'll continue to spend our money playing the tag lottery because it's in our blood.

Hunt Montana and Washington.  Try to do a week in Montana in the spring for Turkeys/Prairie Dogs/Big trout.  Their Turkey season is generally a week earlier than ours so works great to hunt over there a few days and come back through Colville and hit the opener here..  Plan my fall around my Montana deer hunt if I get drawn for a Buck tag or not.
