There are some positive type of comments from unlikely people who seem to recognize the commission is not representing hunters and fishers, in the long run I'm not sure if it would be a good thing or bad thing. Perhaps nothing can be as bad as what we have coming at us now for commissioners?

 :yeah:

Any worse we loose hunting and fishing.  We need a constitutional amendment to the states constitution to make it a right.

Not that the government is following any of its laws and constraints now.

Here is a link to the bill's home page, which includes a link to provide comment to your representatives.

https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=2027&Year=2021&Initiative=false

Members of the task force would have ONE representative from the hunting community. The rest are fisheries, recreation, conservation, native and other community groups alonside other appointed politicians from both parties.

The task force would consider changes to the mandate of the Commission, which of course includes their duty to maximize hunting and fishing opportunities. I don't like the idea of them being able to change that because we know it won't be to our benefit. The task force would present their recommendation December 1st, 2022. I assume any changes from there would be presented through a further bill.

My two thoughts on how I will comment. Additional input is appreciated.

1. The following from RCW 77.04.012 should be exempt from consideration when the Task Force reviews the Commission's mandate, "The commission shall attempt to maximize the public recreational game fishing and hunting opportunities of all citizens, including juvenile, disabled, and senior citizens."

2. Arrangements for updates to the public from the Task Force should be included in this bill. Opportunity for public comment regarding these updates should be included.
