My new Tikka T3 Hunter .243Win
« on: May 07, 2009, 11:58:38 PM »
Hey, just wanted to show off some pictures of my new Tikka T3 Hunter in .243 Winchester. This rifle fits me very comfortably and I couldn't be happier with the fit and finish of it. I also went ahead and put a DNZ Game Reaper one piece scope mount on it for my own peace of mind. I would recommend the DNZ mounts, they fit perfectly and feel very solid and well made. Also, my scope is a Weaver Classic 3x9x38. Hopefully I'll be able to get out to the range this weekend or next to get it sighted in.

i might get blasted for this, but i will take it like a man if i do. those guns are a lot better looking to me with a wood stock than they are with a plastic stock.
good looking rifle.

haha....i bought the plastic one because living on the wet side i didn't want to dent/scratch the hell out of it when i slipped and fell on a rock or a mudslide.....
my first gun has a wood stock and i put a few dings in it.
I agree though.....the wood looks really good.

Nice rifle... great choice on caliber... and good glass to boot. Those Weavers are a very under-rated performer. I had one for a long time... it lived on a lot of different rifles... and was flawless. Just add some 55s and you'll have coyotes handled for a looooong ways.

Thanks everyone. Like I said, I am very happy with it. I sold off my Savage to be able to afford it... nothing wrong with the Savage, I just wanted to try something different, but I'm glad I did because this Tikka fits me really comfortably. More comfortably than my savage did.

I held one of the Tikka T3 Lites (platic stock) and I did not like how it felt in my hands so I went with the wood stocked model and just decided to be fine with scratches (plus I like the wood/blued look). The thing that I didn't like about the plastic stock models is that the checkering isn't cut into the stock, but actually is raised out of it... just didn't feel right in my hands. On the walnut model, the checkering is cut into the stock.
