Arizona Javalina hunt
« on: February 19, 2022, 03:44:56 PM »
So Friday was opening day for Arizona Javalina hunt in unit 32 and my friend john decided we should hunt the flat land and within 2 hours I have seen 10-15 Javalina. We finally set up on a group of Javalina at 60 yards and a mature boar stood broadside and dropped him. So we take pictures and packed him out then while skinning it out we got a phone my friend which is an outfitter had a father/son clients out hunting and the son shot his Javalina which was his first animal harvested and first hunt. Now the dad wasn’t so lucky he shot 7 times and missed so this morning we hunted hard we seen so many mule deer and several nice bucks and a lot of Antelope then we went back to where I shot my Javalina and we saw Javalina poop and so john decided to look under the mesquite tree and a Javalina popped out and stood there for a minute or 2 before he started running and john followed the Javalina and lined the client up and he was successful today Javalina are very fun to hunt it’s fast pace. I would love to do it again

I lived in southern AZ '91-'92. Enjoyed a hunt for them. Also had many encounters while calling coyotes. Javi Tacos🤤

Good story, thanks for posting.  I have relatives in Tucson and have been thinking of putting a hunt together.

How is the meat?
