Deer still looking ok

Threw out a few apples to get a closer look. Seems they're all in good shape as are the others hanging around.

Actually at least 5 bucks in the group, shed their horns, but you can see the nubs when they're up close. Nice thing over 40 actually milling around with at least 12 of them last years fawns.

Nice.  I think I can make out the nubs on one.  Glad to see a good herd.

All the deer I have seen hiking around this last month have looked very healthy.

Where were the deer hiking too? :chuckle:

I missed what hunting feels, The out of breath water breaks, the missed shots, the nearly in tears when finally putting your hands on your first deer. This is exactly how I felt last year..

When we were headed to our property in Lincoln county endlast month, I was super happy to see a couple small herds of Mulies.  One group of about 9 does was right next to the road.  When I stopped and rolled down my window, My wife said to them, "Glad you made it through the winter, lookin' good ladies!"  :)

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset
