Well, I survived the trip to N Seattle for my son's Can-Am hockey tournament. We stayed near the Edmonds Pier. Saw a few blackmouth fishermen giving it a try, nothing caught. A guy bottom fishing with bait was getting a few bites, and I watched him land a nice size perch. I think it would be a fun time to toss out some bait on one rod and fish salmon on another. Anyone fish down at this pier? Really enjoyed the trip, much needed time by the salt.

I'm pretty sure that you can only, legally, use one rod at a time.  But it's one of the few places that is open for salmon all year long.

Not fishing much saltwater other than charters out of Ilwaco and Westport, this was very interesting to me. A few of those perch would surely be great fun! I will gladly check the regs and appreciate the info on the number of rods... One day, I'll go give it a try!

Would flounder, perch or whatever bottom fish you can catch at the pier like coon shrimp? I have a bunch of old coon shrimp from past sockeye seasons. Maybe just use the tail? What's your favorite bait?

They aren't picky, shrimp will work fine.  Squid stays on the hook better and it works as well.  Small spoons work great too.

Caught many salmon off this pier in my teenager years.  Float a herring or buzzbomb as far out as you can cast, there is a man made reef out in front that you want to try to get out close too.  Need a drop net to get fish up on the pier too.

Or use clam necks, they also stay on the hook well.

One pole per person on any marine water. Including marine water connected fresh water. Lake Washington is one of those. You CAN however, have crab gear on one pole and be fishing on another.

You can also have another rod out with a sabiki for herring and anchovies last time I checked.
