I am forty miles north of Seattle and can get pigeons for $6.50 a piece if you ever get up north.

I am on Camano Island and would be interested in obtaining some of those training birds next spring, or perhaps sooner.  Where are you?  Are the birds generally available or is this a one-time thing?

Thanks,
Ed

Riflehunter,
I've seen a guy down your way and another out in Gig Harbor that often has birds available for decent prices.  Don't have their info off hand but if you PM me I can dig it up.

2Many,
I think the rough going rate is ~$20 for hens and ~$25 for roosters depending on age, condition, and flight readiness.

Havershap,
There is a guy in Conway with lots of pheasants for around the above prices.  I can give you his contact if interested as I'm getting some from him soon.  Otherwise I typically see training pigeons go for as low as ~$5 and more than often around ~$10 per bird.  Based on that, HighlandLofts prices look pretty good to me.

Highlandlofts,
Feel free to PM me for location and meeting up.  Would like to know your minimum order.  I'm up in Skagit Co. near Sedro-Woolley.

Thanks all and good luck all this bird season!
-HH

Too much!  I don't blame the producers.  The price of feed has gone through the roof.  Birdguy charged me $15 a bird.  I've been getting them from a birdfarm in Reardon for less, but it's over 600 miles round trip.   :yike:  Birdguy ia less than 50.

Really that's not to horrible. I see lots of preserve places charging like 35-38 for them. Heck if I was closer, I would buy some! I love to eat chucker and sadly we don't have really any more huntable populations around here anymore.
