Serious question, but why bother with a kennel in the back? probably breaking code here, but my dog has a permanent seat in the cab with me. I've an incredibly durable seat cover on the back bench. Just haven't the heart to have him hunt so hard, then toss him in a box. How would you feed him corndogs and peach rings😯

I agree with how you feel my main reason is safety and sometimes a dog has to be a dog
He can have the corn dog and peach rings when we get back😁

I did it for a few years, when we had a regular truck.  I did notice my dogs were not happy riding in the back.  And once the "smell" of exhaust got my attention, the  next truck, had a extended cab and the dogs rode there.

You could put a battery CO2 meter back there and check the readings.  Be sure the meter has a "history" record.

I won't do it again.  I think the dog is safer and better off by having you remove the canopy, if you want the dog to ride back there.

Thank you for your experience with that
I do not have a canopy
