Supposedly it's all on your phone. You have to buy the licensees and tags online (can't buy through the app). When you launch the app, it then shows everything you have. Somehow you clickety click and your tag is notched. State law prevents the app from storing any location data, not sure about the time you notched, but seems like it would have to at least store the day and month.Even if you chose paper tags your license will still be available on the app.You do need to remember to download the tags in the app if you will be out of cell range. I would think they need some way to fix problems, especially in the first year or two. Looks like you can download it to a new device even if you don't have the old phone (broke or stolen) and then MT will forcibly remove it from the old device so there is some level of protection.I wish WA would do that for fishing, I hate having to pack around a filing cabinet.

I wish Idaho would do at least the hunting/fishing license. My paper license stretches from my head to my toes with all the permits required if you’re a spaz an do everything like me
