too bad - no excuse for %#$@ criminals, but that's precisely why I set up on 12" or larger diameter trees and brush my cameras in really well.  I use Master Python cable locks and hide the cable with moss.  Anything else is asking for trouble.  I figure the most hardware I've got out there, the more motivation for someone to come back.  I think the bear boxes make sense for protection from bears but I don't think anything will deter criminals.  If they want it bad enough, they'll just cut the tree down.  Go BIG on your tree set-ups!

Thanks for that, I have two of these "protection boxes"  I guess if they really want to be butt heads they will just destroy your camera so no-one gets it.  Its just a chance you take I guess.

Dido to that!!!
I left my paddle-lock key in the truck one time and diden't feel like running all the way back to get it! :bash:
I remembered that U-tube video, and put it to work instantly!! wasn't as easy as those guys made it seem, but I did get it open and back on again.
Thanks to the web I didn't have to hike as far that day :chuckle: :chuckle:
