Landowner doe tags?
« on: November 13, 2007, 07:57:33 PM »
I tried to get a response last week, but no one replied, figured I would try again.  Going with my friend up to the NE corner to try and get him a buck this weekend.  The people we're staying with have some "landowner" depredation doe tags.  My question is can I shoot a doe using one of the landowner tags even though I've already filled my own tag?  My understanding was that if WDFW gives depredation tags to a landowner they're entitled to do whatever they want with them, meaning they could shoot 9 does if they had 9 landowner doe tags.

Just wondering, I'm going to call Olympia before we leave to see, but who knows if they will give me a straight forward answer.

They may have changed the depredation permits but they used to be only for the land owner to shoot some deer to protect their crops and or reduce damage.  I would say no you can not, but if you get a yes I would document who, what , where, when, and how you were told yes.

I heard that landowners are allowed to alot the tags to whomever they see fit but i would still speak with everybody at wdfw because what you may get from one will not be the same as the response you get from another one. most of them are just as uninformed as the rest of us.

'what he said...if you call them back, you'll get a different answer from somebody else.
