lets see I have drawn 2 tags in the last 12 years. Toutle bull two years ago and Late Grayback tag 11 years ago. Haven't drawn Wyoming deer or elk yet. I drew a couple Oregon tags. No Colorado tags and on goes the list...

What I want to know how is it the drawing "random"? I ask because two different guys I know have drawn all three oil tags since they started the point system. The odds are you will never draw any of the oil tags, and yet some people at minimum of 500to1 draw all three I can't even calculate the odds on that.If you look at the responses so far most people don't draw anyting or tags that are easy to get ,then some people draw stuff constantly,And they call it "random " ;).Sorry I'm venting it's just frustrating 25 years for sheep, goat, and moose, and nothing. Don't get me wrong I put in every year after all someone  has to win.I think I feel a little better :).

I feel your frustration.  It's is a very funny system for being so "random".  The group I hunt with has a couple very lucky guys that hit pretty often, and the rest of us draw nothing.  I've often wondered if it has certain WILD ID numbers that the computer system likes. :dunno:  Like you said though, someone has to win.  Good luck to all.

-- I dont mind when I hear people drawing great tags when they have been applying as long as I have, im happy for them and hope they get a masher bull, its the people that draw these tags with hardly any points is what pisses me off and hearing of guys with 30 pts or guys that drew 2 years ago and now have almost as many points as me again that really piss me off! I think that poacher points thing needs to go! :twocents:

this is my first year seriously tring in other states.  MT, NM, and of course WA.  Tried ID a couple of years ago for a hot mulie unit, no luck.  Doing points for WY.
Next year I may try to get one of the OTC Southeast mulie tags in ID.  Need to do some research tho..

1997 Washington Cali sheep raffle
1998 Oregon sheep raffle
2000 Wyoming deer tag
2001 Wash goat tag
2001 carlton elk tag
2005 Nevada deer tag
2006 Montana antelope tag
2006 Wash cali sheep tag
2009 WAFNAWS dall sheep hunt raffle
2009 Idaho moose tag
Wow! it looks like a lot of luck, but I apply for all the states that have bighorn tags and for most other species and buy tickets in most all available raffles. I figure I'm in about 40 "draws" a year for a grand total of 480 chances(give or take 10) That's a success rate in the 3% range. I didnt look that lucky when you look at the odds but you have to play the game to get the tags.

I do feel very lucky for what I've been able to do. I have a wonderful and supportive wife that understands my passion.
But, I love to see other people have success as some of the best hunts I've been on I didn't have a tag for.
