Our first spot had a few toms, but after being there 30 min and hearing female cluck. I decided that Tom was not gonna be easy to call in. Second spot got out the truck ,female clicks right out the gate ,called for awhile,no gobbles at all.
Decided to move along down the road. Came to a clear cut ,way up on the hill big Tom struted. The upper road of the clear cut is behind a closed gate ,few miles down the road.
So we head up to the gate ,grab our stuff and off we go.
We go back real slow ,all the way in to the upper road of the cut. We call ,look in around, just nothing ,like it was done gone. So we get about half way back out. I say let's stop here and call for a second. Tom goes off like 50 yards above the road. In the thick stuff. So we throw our day packs in the bushes off the road. I grabbed his decoy out of his pack and setup right in the middle of road. And we find a spot just off the road to call from.So this Tom was responding to my calls. So I was like well better give it a go ,cause I don't think we are in the heat of turkey breeding. Being we are a little higher up like above 3000 ft elevation.
So I'm calling at him and calling at him and he is gobbles but just doesn't seem like he wants to move .Always from the same spot up the hill. All the while ,we start hearing gobbles back down by the gate and the truck. So now we have turkeys gobbles on the left and the right. And we are kinda stuck in the middle ,with our little decoy in the road.
So I keep laying on the call ,and the one up the hill is not moving ,but responds. And the other respond also, but I can tell there getting closer. So finally here comes this Tom on a dead run down the road going toward our decoy.
I tell him ,get ready it's running right toward us.
Next thing I know ,he shoots and has it down.

This is his last year as youth.
So it's pretty sweet.

Here is a pic of his little decoy in the road setup.
Kinda setup on a little. S curve in the road.
Setup that way so any turkey hit the road would see our decoy,or the one up the hill might see it. To come check it out.
