don't take this the wrong way, please, but there's about 185(sarcasm) threads on here on this very topic on whatever part of the state you could possibly want to go.
search function works wonders.
hopefully that didn't sound like a a-hole thing to say, but there is a lot of knowledge on here to be uncovered.

Here's my advice, which you need to take with a grain of salt, I have yet to harvest a turkey.

Get to a place the you KNOW holds birds, meaning, get over to Stevens County. Before you go, pull out a map and start identifying huntable areas. Leave work early on a Friday, scout/hunt all weekend, start learning the areas you ID'd in the previous exercise. It doesn't guarantee you a bird, but I'll tell you what, your odds will be much greater in Stevens County than in any other area of the state, especially if you've never turkey hunted.

You can also go to the DNR and/or Forest Service ofiices in Colville ... Stevens, Ferry, and/or Pend Orielle County (70% of all turks are harvested in the NE corner of the state versus 1+% on the westside of the mountains). You can take 2 bearded birds (versus 1 on westside), the terrain is not as brushy, not as rainy, the birds are more talkative and more willing to paly the game, etc.  Good luck.
