I wouldnt dought they are roaming around down there in places.  They do roam a lot.  A lot.  One was documented in 2007-2008 leaving Mt Adams and ending up in La Grande then decided he wanted to go back.  The billies like to move around.

I know you run around down there.  What are your thoughts.  There has been way too many views on this post.  Somebody has to have an opinion they want to voice

I believe there are goats in the eagle cap wilderness in oregon which is a part of the blues just a little farther south i would imagine though that they could wander north :dunno:

I've never seen any in the blues, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were there.

Back home in an area where my Dad outfitted and we guided and my Dad had hunted for 35 years, me for over 20, we came around a corner one day and here was 9 goats, all nannies and kids standing right in the road.  Wasn't anywhere we knew of within 35-40 miles as the crow flies that there are goats.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

never saw a goat down there, but thats not saying much. i don't spend too much time down there in goat country.
i would also think along the same lines as the eagle cap wilderness goats moving around.
bluebulls or bluesarcher would be the 2 guys on here i'd ask for a solid answer.

There are goats in the Wenaha wilderness on both the Washington and Oregon sides.  ODFW did a transplant a few years back.  A few seem to be spending more time on the Washington side up in the First Ck, Melton Ck, Second Ck area.  I have been after WDFW to dump a few more on our side but to no avail.

It wouldn't surprise me, wdfw has been transplanting some in weird areas. Some may not believe me, but, there where 5 goats put in the Siouxon unit a few years back. A member on here had pics off them, don't know if he still does. By the way, they where NOT put in as rugged area as you would think. I have seen goats and sheep in some areas that you would think "HUH?"

I saw a nannie a few year back on the hill to the north of Troy, OR. She was probably 12 miles as the crow flies from the WA OR border.

While camping in the Wenaha unit a few years back, we came across a dead billy at the bottom of a rock slide...So I'm sure they're around.

I know for a fact the oregon side of the blues has goats.  My buddy has a ranch on the west side  of LaGrande and has pictures of a nanny with kids.  He also has pictures of a lone billy and I have seen the billy myself.

I thought I saw one several years ago to the south of me as I was hiking south on Sawtooth Ridge in the Wenaha Wilderness. It was a long ways off but I could not figure what else it could be unless a white black bear. I have been out to the lookout on Oregon Butte a couple times recently and they have a photo of a goat that was at the lookout many years ago. Brian.
