Turkey Nests Cold/Snow?

Curious how tuff and resilient turkey eggs are when we get snow and cold as we have? The hens have been laying down here since first of March.

Not an expert, but honestly think they will be fine with the mother keeping them warm.

It's the cold wet after hatching that kills them....

Lack of food and hypothermia kills more chicks than predators.

mother nature i think is adaptable, moms can have a late hatch if first fails..

It's sticking around somewhat 1200' and above.

By the looks if it it is going to cold but the chances of precipitation are going lower.  50%  chance of snow on Saturday Friday and Sunday less than 10% this is north of Spokane.  I use the My Radar app.  It is pretty accurate and you can pin point forecasts.  It is going to be cold in the mornings though.

I don't think it will matter much as long as the hens are on the nest and not leaving the eggs to get down below freezing. If you think about it the hen only lays an egg once a day and doesn't even sit on them until she has a large enough clutch to suit her. So the eggs are left to the elements for several days without warmth. That's how they all hatch at the same time.

Most of that in town melted but we have gotten more snow every day and night in the hills.
