It turned out we had two groups from Tennessee, the guys that you know you are here hunting now, it’s been the toughest hunt so far, real rainy, birds have been pretty quiet. First day Mark got a bird, yesterday Jeremy got a really nice 3 year old, but we only got one bird each day.

Photos of Mark and Jeremy!

The rain finally quit this morning and Joe from Tennessee with guide Daniel had a great hunt. Daniel called in a Tom from 588 yards and Joe put the hammer down, they found another gobble later in the morning and Daniel reeled that one in and Joe hammered number two. Well done boys!

I guess Zach and Jeremy were on another tom this morning but an eagle ruined their hunt. Joe got a couple birds so Tim is the only one who doesn't have at least one bird yet, we will try to fix that this afternoon, fingers crossed LOL. Mark told me he's going to stay in this afternoon so only Jeremy and Tim will be going hunting after dinner.

Meanwhile in the remote wilderness of Idaho:

Archie had a once-in-many-lifetimes experience, never before have we found a bear like this on top of the mountains in the wilderness of Idaho.

Cold weather, snow, and chilly winds are making bear hunting predictably much tougher than normal.

No bear were seen Monday morning on the first day of the hunt this week, Grant and Archie found the "Teddie" bear Monday mid-day and took the photo for laughs. Monday evening Archie watched a bear bait but must have fallen asleep for a while, yesterday when Grant checked the trail cam there was a bear on the bait at the time Archie was at the bait that he didn't see, LOL!

So Archie sat at that bait again and this time it all worked out, we are assuming that the same bear came in, looks like it when you compare photos, and it's so cold we don't have many bear out yet. The bear are pretty skinny this spring, this bear skinned out at 5'-9", but as you can see it's very skinny.

Congrats Archie, skinny bear make good rugs too, and currently there are not enough bear running around to be very selective!!

Question is what do you charge for those bears?🤣

Rhett with his two minute Tom turkey! First morning of his hunt, only two minutes from the first gobble to gotcha! I love it when a plan comes together!

These "special" teddy hunts are rather costly but a bargain in today's world, please call for pricing! Where else can you get a free range teddy?  :dunno:

Glad he got that skinny Bear before it had a chance to fatten up on Fawns and calves. Too bad all the bears in Washington are just going to have a free-for-all killing the  young ungulates every spring now.
