Yeah, bear activity really picked up about 10 days ago in our area. From what I hear they were getting bear quite a bit earlier further south. Our early hunters filled tags but were taking what they could get, we didn't have enough bear out and about to be very selective.

We’ve been doing pretty well on our bear hunts, the hunters have mostly been shooting pretty well too. We’ve only had to use Chewy “the terrier” to blood trail 4 bear so far and he found them all.

This morning Brian caught a good one with the hounds, the big bear mostly walked and bayed, finally the dogs got him to climb and Max from Wyoming nailed his first bear, this 6’-4” color phase on the first morning of his hunt. Way to go Max!

Bear season started very slow this year and we thought maybe we had lost some bear during the winter, but once things finally warmed up we had one of our best seasons ever. I think our average size was even a couple inches longer than in the past, some a few bear over 7 feet were taken, one last week went 7'-2", I'll get more photos rounded up as soon as I can.
