Easter double!
« on: April 17, 2022, 11:15:36 AM »
Happy Easter everyone.  I got my first double this morning!   And it was with the new Stevens 301 single shot 20ga.  I was talking/interacting with them for an hour and I finally got them to cross fence and commit.  They came in and attacked my Jake decoy and then the fun began.  Man, turkey hunting is a blast!

Couple things:
1.  TSS is ridiculous.  So impressed with it.
2.  Beards/spurs were 8.5”/3/4” and 7.5”/1”
3.  Verdict 3” #9 TSS
4.  I was calling and not moving for and hour and needed to move/hands were cold and so I wound up interrupting the gobbles.  That really seemed to tick them off and make it happen.

Awesome! I doubled up yesterday. I agree with you on the gobble tactic. They didnt seem to commit to clucks but the gobble really got em.going.

Nice!  I didn’t do an actual gobble, just like the girl was always interrupting.

The first was 15yrd and the second was 35yrd.  Normal shot would’ve probably done it but the TSS just really anchors them.  First time shooting a bird with it and I totally noticed a difference and I used a 10ga before making the switch to the 20.
