0 out of 7 of us.   This is weird.  Is the draw audited by an independent auditor?  I'm really starting to thing it's buggered up big time.

Might not be as easy as you hope it will be to get one later.  Last year it was a nightmare trying to get the leftovers.  So many people tried that the web page crashed!  Most people that tried didn't get one last year.  Some people stayed on their computers all day trying with no luck.  This year i am seeing a lot more people in the "NOT SELECTED" category. Good luck!!!

I got not selected two years in a row once.  I seem to be about every other year now.

I was one of the people who tried to get a left over last year and dang, what a flippin mess that was. I did not get one and was soooooo pissed and the WDFW on how that was conducted. They need a left over draw or something. When their system fails and they just say, “well, sorry but that’s all folks”. It’s a shame. There was zero fairness to any of it last year.

May want to be careful with that fairness word. Lots of people don't draw deer every year.

I didn't draw this year. I've drawn most years, but have not drawn a few times. I'm 0 for 11 on elk.

I used to draw every year, but the last 5-6 years it’s been every other year. On deer. I’ve drawn elk once but am not too concerned there. More people applying, usually a high chance to grab a left over deer tag though which has been nice.

This is the 3rd year I have not drawn deer.  0-6 on elk as well.

I didn’t have an issue with it last year, yeah there was an overload on the site but that was for everyone. I also was one of the first in line at my local dealer. I don’t get how that’s not fair, I got in line before everyone else, especially those that didn’t even want to leave the couch to get one. If you want to talk fair then get rid of the points all together, every year you get one application 1 name in the pot, you get drawn then great if not to bad. No extra names because you paid $5 a year for 10 years.

You just needed to think outside the box.  When the system crashed, when I was at the store I e-mailed them from my phone.  I saw later that day they were sold out.  A week later I was contacted about buying a multi season permit in which I did.  I received that because I had e-mailed them.

Took me three years to draw deer last year, and now I drew again this year. Completely random. I've got like ten points for elk, and a buddy of mine has drawn it three times in the last ten years. LOL.

I didn't get either this year, though was glad to get deer last year (my first year hunting period). It was nice because it allowed me to try out muzzle loader season, which is what my tag will be this year, without putting all my eggs into one unfamiliar basket. Having it also allowed me more opportunity to experience hunting in different areas and times of year.

Maybe I'll have more luck in the OIL draws.  :chuckle:

Nope, so they literally can say there’s 100 left overs and give out 10 and save the other 90 tags. Where as if they say there’s 100 tags and 100 people stand in line then…… letting them go to no otc leftovers is a bad thing and creating a *censored* system and getting people to complain about it gives them a reason to switch to 100% draw. Mind you look who’s apart of the commission

Only time I've ever drawn Deer was last year.  Never on Elk.  Hope they keep the opportunity to be able to purchase over the counter for the leftovers in August.  That's really our only hope.  The Game Dept. doesn't really want us to hunt, they just want our money.

That really caught my attention.  We have to change our mindsets on multi-season.  Deer never used to be over-subscribed.  Wowzer.

I just found out today (while I was selecting special hunt areas) that I didn't draw this year.  I seem to have success in alternate years as well.

It's never really been an issue picking up one of the leftovers/un-purchased tags in the past - just had to remember to go purchase it in early August.  Sounds like I'm hearing there was an issue last year  (but I don't remember any discussion of it....)
