Downers is I can't chain the front

Ya I have chained on all 4 on my 2008 for years curious who fed u that line

Can't chain the front of a Taco either....

Why’s that?  I chain all four on mine all the time.
:yeah:
I've never had issues ever chaining mine on all fours. :dunno:

You guys never read the owners manual? Most trucks including Toyota’s your not supposed to chain the fronts. Can you yes…

With that logic  don’t u put bigger tires , modify the air box , don’t put 87 octane in either the list goes on ,

Manual says 87 octane is fine...  Point is there is precious little clearance to the UCAs in a stock set up. Now if you want to start a mods thread, I'm all in!

I keep waiting for Thinkingman to chime in.             :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
:bash: :chuckle:

Truth hurts, doesn't it?
Listening to you fanboys is like watching CNN Libs lie to themselves about what they desperately want to believe.

The truth is a Tacoma is an overrated, 3 generations behind fanboy car that is primarily bought for styling.

3.5 Camry motor is lame for a truck...can you even get a six-speed auto in them yet? My 6sp manual was geared by a bunch of monkeys...Literally no way to back a trailer...I needed 4lo to reverse up any grade with no load in it and 'cruising' at 75mph was revving at 2500rpm. Ridiculous.

As mentioned by others in this thread, there is no rear spring capacity. Put a dog box in the bed and you're on the bed rails, which will melt with first contact with any de-icer. Just look at the recalls.

I hypermiled my 4.0 6sp manual and never got over 18mpg, and I know how to drive.

My 3.5 Ecoboost F150 has twice the power, three times the capability and with 130k miles, needed none of the upgrades to fix basic engineering shortcomings.

I wanted to like the GMC 2.8L Cummins but couldn't look past the cheap interior.

Ford Ranger would be my choice in that category however I'm not sold on the 2.3L.

Pm me for a more complete set of reasons why the Tacoma is the weakest car in that space.

Little bit harsh on the carrying capacity of these trucks - throw on some airbags in the back (cheap and easy upgrade) and they're very capable.

Replaced the clutch once
Had the rear frame welded in a couple of spots.  My understanding is a lot of Tacoma's back east have had an issue with cracks in the frames from all the road treatments
U joints on the front
Plugs recently

Which one of you is Rachel Maddow and which one is Don Lemon?

Here's a more comprehensive list:

Seat fabric pilling at 80k

Weather strip on roof decided to fly off on freeway (Check TacomaWorld for that one...Happens all the time)

My rear leaf recall issue has been documented...Toyota corporate says 'Eff you' until forced to recall Tacomas for rear leafs)

Frame rust recall...It's just the frame, why the big deal?

Fuel door 'hinge' rusted off...Comically cheap design.

Alloy wheels corroded and flaked at 70k.

Rear glass in cab rattled loose on Colockum Road...I was afraid it was literally going to fall out...The frame on those cars is so wimpy, the suspension can't dampen the vibrations.

Don't put any weight on the tailgate, they bend...It's not a truck, you know.

Did they ever put disk brakes on the rear?  Probably not if people keep buying them.

I towed a #3500 boat and would not want to tow anything heavier, especially if you have improved the suspension.

I'll think of more later...
