I guess I’m the lucky one of all the Tacoma drivers out there ! I just ordered my new one and I’m getting a great trade in on my 2011 with 300,000+  hard miles on it and yep my tailgate and gas flap are still like they were when I bought it

Which one of you is Rachel Maddow and which one is Don Lemon? Maybe look in the mirror?

Here's a more comprehensive list:

Seat fabric pilling at 80k - Mines fine at 79K but I guess I'm in for it at 80K!

Weather strip on roof decided to fly off on freeway (Check TacomaWorld for that one...Happens all the time) - Mines still there thankfully, cause you know that may affect my horrible gas milage.

My rear leaf recall issue has been documented...Toyota corporate says 'Eff you' until forced to recall Tacomas for rear leafs) So exactly how recalls work, just like on other vehicles.

Frame rust recall...It's just the frame, why the big deal? Again not on mine but I do wash it occasionally, maybe thats a 80K thing too?

Fuel door 'hinge' rusted off...Comically cheap design. Could be right, but again mines fine, I'm not looking forward to 80K!

Alloy wheels corroded and flaked at 70k. Wash and waxing goes along way...Glad i'm over 70K

Rear glass in cab rattled loose on Colockum Road...I was afraid it was literally going to fall out...The frame on those cars is so wimpy, the suspension can't dampen the vibrations. The Clockum road rattles everything loose no matter whats on it...

Don't put any weight on the tailgate, they bend...It's not a truck, you know. Yes its not a 2500/3500, maybe date smaller women?

Did they ever put disk brakes on the rear?  Probably not if people keep buying them. Maybe but they work, even towing a camper 3600#, hopefully they appear at 80K?

I towed a #3500 boat and would not want to tow anything heavier, especially if you have improved the suspension. Refer to last answer.

I'll think of more later...The suspense is killing us!

You really don't know what you're talking about.

If you were familiar with the situation, you'd know better.

Rear glass in cab rattled loose on Colockum Road...I was afraid it was literally going to fall out...The frame on those cars is so wimpy, the suspension can't dampen the vibrations. The Clockum road rattles everything loose no matter whats on it... I'll be sure to mention that to my F150 that's traversed those roads twice as many times as the Toy and somehow, it doesn't rattle and flex like a Poser POS.

Sounds like you're the Mall Crawler that doesn't expect much from a vehicle.

Jeez, you're like a bunch of Gender Studies students when Ben Shapiro starts dropping truths.

If i am going in the woods its a Tacoma HANDS DOWN. Ive pulled a 23' alumaweld no problem to seiku. Put a 3" fox lift on it and it rides like a dream, on any road. Sounds to me like YOU dont knwo what you are talking about comparing an F-150 to a Taco.

23' Alumaweld with a lifted Tacoma...Brilliant....Sounds like you wrote the book on intelligent towing....I should pay attention to you!

Let me guess...Under 30, Foglights(or more) on in traffic, MONSTER ENERGY or GLOCK PERFECTION window decal, ballsack hanging from the hitch receiver, mustache, and either white Oakley Flak Jackets or mirrored Pit Vipers.

I'm sure I got at least a few of those right.

Seems like feelings to me...since you have a tendency to ruin every Toyota thread with long winded issues you had with your taco (which you repeat in every thread) and then belittle anyone that disagrees with you. Even making judgement assumptions about who they are.

Maybe just step aside and let the thread continue without your input... because honestly your so emotionally charged no one takes you seriously.

I've put several thousand miles on the Colockum in my yotas and have never gained a new rattle or other issue from it. Guess you missed the strategic Colockum Rd. driving course that teaches you how to pick your lines over the rocks. :chuckle:

But aren't we talking about a Tacoma here?  Bringing this up about the Tundra is like slandering the rest of Boeing's products because of the 737 MAX issue.

@Thinkingman, I understand you're disappointed in your Tacoma experience, but understand that the rest of the world doesn't expect a compact pickup to perform like a diesel 1 ton.  It's a small truck, world-renowned for its reliability (in spite of your complaints based on a very narrow personal experience), and a tool that works very well for its intended job.

Choose the right tool for the job, and you'll likely be happy.  Use the wrong tool, and you'll likely come across as a frothing-at-the-mouth scorned lover to the vast majority of those that have fair expectations for the tool they choose.  You've long made it clear you're not a fan - there's really no need to dump on every Toyota thread that pops up simply because you mismatched your choice of tool to the job required. A vast number of folks have realistic expectations about what the truck can do. I know you've made it your "personal mission" to pay back Toyota for the perceived wrongs they've done you, but c'mon - do you actually think the way you're approaching this gains any traction with potential buyers at all?  In any way, shape or form?  At this point, you're probably driving people to the Toyota financing offices...

And for the record - I've never owned a Toyota of any kind, and don't plan to since they don't fit the jobs I would need them to do.
