Special permit Goat questions
« on: April 30, 2022, 07:19:42 PM »
1. I see the map in the 2022/2023 Big Game hunting regulations.  6-1 is East Olympics.  But on Page 73, the is no special hunt category for this area.  (Maybe I am blind.). Am I reading this incorrectly?

2. I checked my Special Hunt Points.  What happened to my Conflict Resolution Goat hunt points?  They are gone.

I never saw a thread on this.  Does anybody know what happened?

They don't have the conflict hunts anymore.

Not all goat units have hunts every year. They manage each goat unit independently (kinda) and they often change the number of goat tags each year, from 3 to 1 to 0. They still have the East Olympics unit so that they can have a hunt there in the future, if they decide to. The Olympics is a pretty fluid, ever changing situation with goats, as they try to eliminate them from that area. ???  No conflict hunts this year. They hope to not have that again and eliminate all goats form Olympics, but who knows what will happen in the future.

What happened to all those transplanted goats? Why are they not added to the quota? 1 permit in all but 2 units is crazy.

Pretty sure they weren’t added to existing goat units and were more intended to rebuilt herds where they used to be. I think it’ll be a few more years if we do see hunts possible in any of them.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Still seems like your points shouldn’t go away. What if they have another conflict hunt in the future? Those points were purchased.
