Gobbler crew of ‘22
« on: May 06, 2022, 03:46:39 AM »
It was quite a week for 8 hunters. 5 toms including one for a first time hunter and I was fortunate enough to double up on my last day.

Has anyone seen all black primary feathers like the one on the right?

And I forgot to mention in my original posting that we stayed with Rick and Wendy at Buck Canyon Lodge. It is the forth time I have stayed there. They are great hosts, very helpful and simply great people! He’s almost as excited as the successful hunter when we get back.

Sounds like a fun hunt. I've only seen one bird with black primaries and that was several years back. We've killed a couple that have had single black primaries and I've taken recent pics of another with a single black primary.

I've seen a TON of dead turkeys and your bird is the first I've ever seen like that. Looking back he might have been a good one to mount. See you Again and Thanks !!........Might have to go look for his brother.
