Where’s my license and tags
« on: May 03, 2022, 04:51:12 PM »
Has anyone ever bought your license and tags online and them not arrive within the stated 15dys? Well I leave for a turkey hunting trip in two days and they have not arrived. The online receipt and 15dy temporary license says allow 15dys for delivery…well tomorrow is the 15th day. I’m sweating bullets here and getting pretty upset. I’m convinced the state does it on purpose so we can’t hunt.

I think they're having problems this year. I haven't received my licenses and tags either, but I did receive my vehicle access pass, which was from the same online order as all my other stuff. Since you'll be needing your turkey tags I'd be calling them first thing tomorrow morning. You should then be able to stop by a license dealer and pick up your license and tags. Call 360-902-2464

I haven't gotten mine yet either but they still have a few days.  Cant believe we will be putting in for special permits before the paper regs are out.  no surprise I guess.

Rumor has it they as well as some license dealers are out of the paper to print licenses on and scrambling to figure out what to do.

I bought mine online
April 2
Called 3 times
Told me to be patient
Told them I had plans for Turkey hunting
They said I’d need to buy a duplicate tag and use my paper temporary license
So another 8 bucks
I paid over 300 bucks for resident combo fish hunt license 4 special permits and 2 discovery passes
Soon as the wife agrees to sell the house
We are outta here to Montana

Bought my fishing license a few days before the season ended.
Temporary you can print expired, took a couple weeks.
Will buy earlier next year.

Ya, that’s what I’m afraid of, that they’ll say “go buy a duplicate” when it’s their mistake not getting me my tags within 15dys.

If you log into your account and go to order history it will have the date it was shipped out. Mine says shipped April 27th.

Good idea. I should’ve known better and just gone to Walmar and bought everything so I didn’t have to go through this.

Thanks, Bobcat. I just looked and they were mailed off on April 26th…7dys after I ordered them. So 7dys in the mail system and still not here. Keep my fingers crossed that they come tomorrow.

I'm in this boat!! Ordered my tags and licenses on the 20th last month, their fishhunt web application says they shipped on 4/26... I called their customer service today and they told me they actually only went out yesterday, and that I could come in to their office and get some fresh turkey tags in case mine don't make it in the mail... Being a state worker myself, I  understand the... limitations... of bureaucracy and it was probably someone dragging their feet is what I wager. I think the same thing is happening with your stuff! Fortunately i live in olympia and their office at the natural resource building isn't far out of my way.

Here's to hoping they print the dang tags for me when I go in Thursday afternoon, then off to the Klick on FRIDAY!

I've been waiting 30 days now, my wife got hers in 10 days. I call and was told to just pay to have a duplicate made because they have no idea when they will be caught up they are that far behind

I didn't have to put in for spring bear this year, so I didn't have a reason to buy any tags

I never ever buy license and tags on line. I have my favorite spot to go for them where most the folks know me. I like paying money and walking out with what I paid for.

Clerk at Lowes tried to direct me to Self Check out the other day.

I told her if I wanted to work there , I would put in a application.

Few years ago I bought online and they plain and simple never sent them to me. I called them up and they basically said, "we are sorry to hear you lost your tags, we can sell you replacements". Tried to push back, failed, and ended up paying the fee. I think this was 2020 so I am not necessarily surprised but it was still bs.

My tags took several weeks to get but did finally get to me. Good thing, one of the turkey tags is already spent.

Same thing happened here.  I ended up printing my receipt and going without a transport tag.  Shot a bird, dated and signed my receipt.  F'm!!
This state is too incompetent to even work the mail system!  Clowns.
Decided to hunt Turks in Idaho on a whim.  Ordered a tag last Monday.  Arrived in 5 days.  Like magic!

Thos os my exact plan. I’m on phone incompetent wdfw right now and they are telling me i can file for an extension for my license. When i bring up the tag issue they say, “well you can’t go hunting then”. Wrong f’ing answer. I’m going to create my own tag on back of license and have it witnesses by my hunting partner. This state is so screwed up :bash: :bash: :bash:

If I thought they were clever enough to run a scam I might agree with you.  :chuckle:

On line, in your orders, it indicates a "shipped date".  My tags arrived 3 weeks after the shipped date.  Hell I could have walked to Olympia and back in that time!

My favorite is you still pay a dealer fee if you buy direct through the state.  They don't charge a dealer to use their system or paper but they charge us.

It's one of those things, spend time at the store and hope you get someone who knows what they are doing so you can buy the 27 things you need or hope the state mails you the right stuff in a reasonable timeframe.

Makes me like the app based license idea many states are going with more and more every day.

The state is a actually pretty versed in scamming people.....since the whole special permit system they are selling is nothing more than hopes and dreams  :chuckle:

Bought my kids license and tags last night and it wouldn't let me buy the permits so I had to checkout and buy them separately. It seems messed up to me.

I just got off the phone with WDFW and it only took them about 30 seconds to show me how to navigate to the "tags" spot on their website and fill out my selections.  The guy was super nice and helpful.   Feel like I always need to post when I have a good experience.

I was sweating this too - seemed like way too long between "shipped" and the current date.  But just came in the mail today.  It said "shipped" back in April, but the postal stamp date is May 9.  Someone needs to tell WDFW that things aren't shipped until they go in the mail  :chuckle:

If you were just buying a bear tag you have until August.
