Elk hunting East or West?

You live in Olympia so hunt close to home. Your a west side hunter. $6 gas and closer to home hunting makes for more bear, predator, mushroom hunting its a no brainer. If you want to "See" elk but not shoot any go to eastern wa.

The problem with eastern Washington is you can only shoot spikes. That makes it much more challenging. Unless you're a bow hunter and hunt a unit that's open for cows too.
