Sorry for your loss, bone.
Losing a loved one is never easy, but for those of us who were fortunate enough to have a Dad for a hunting partner, it just seems a little tougher. My Dad passed 10 years ago, and I still miss him the most during deer season.
Hopefully, having those memories of past hunting seasons will ease your pain just a little.

Doug, thoughts and prayers to you and your family. There is nothing to say that you haven't heard. Great dads are special people to us and those around us. Lost the greatest man in my life 10 years ago this summer. I am thankful everyday still for the time I and my kids got to spend with him. Time and the great memories will ease the pain, the memories and moments will sneak up on you at times you do not expect. Embrace those times, keep him the huge part of your life and the man you have become he has always been. Take the best he gave you and give it to your girls and the grandkids you will be spending the next several years with.

May the many memories of happier times buoy you in the waves of sadness to come. I lost my Dad 12 years ago this year and still not a day goes by that I don't miss him and remember things he taught me. I find looking at the old pictures and seeing all the smiles in them helps when I get down. You'll find there's lots of smiles in those pictures. All the best to you and yours losing the patriarch.

Thank you everyone! It was a rough week, and I’m sure everyone’s prayers and thoughts helped.
