I applied for deer 7 or 8 years in a row.  No dice, yet?

There are no deer in unit 11...
I get to put in as a resident this year with about 1 in 11 draw odds....  Hopefully!!!!

here is deal on unit 11 draw odds are about 1 in 15 for non res on early tag, 1 in 25 on late tag.  unit 11 is down on deer quality and quantity for two reason fire and winter of '06-'07 but still is the best bet in northern Idaho for a 180"+ deer.  good luck i haven't drawn in four years and Idaho has no points system  :bash: and i am on the res side because i have a lifetime license.

I've shed hunted it.  Its nothing like it used to be.  Took some hard hits in the winter I guess.  COyotes were also outrageous.  In fact I saw so many I came home grabbed my gun and license and went to work.

I've drawn 4 times over the last 15 years. Have not applied for the last 4 years. Definatley not the hunt it use to be.As mentioned above fires, winter and predators have hammered that unit pretty hard. A buddy hunted it last year for 7-8 days and took a 23" 150s 4 point. He saw very few deer let alone any big bucks.I'm going to wait for it to rebound before I apply there again. :twocents: Good Luck!

unit 11 is just like the rest of Idaho, the mule deer hunting has been way down over the whole state.  it just seemed to take longer for it to catch up to unit 11.  damn Idaho fish and game is determined to get rid of all game in Idaho and doing a very good job so far.

Thanks for the info-

I looked at the late hunt stats for the past 4 years - high success (>80%), and mostly 4pt or better.... sounds like people are still having good success, but must be settling for smaller 4pts then in year's past.
